I thrive on stories about science, art, education, and culture — especially the offbeat. An alumna of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I studied journalism and environmental science while working as an editor and staff writer for a daily independent student newspaper, The Badger Herald. After college, I lived at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory for four months, writing and editing stories about particle physics as the lab's science writing intern. I am currently a freelance writer and fact-checker for a variety of science magazines, including Discover and the Pacific Standard. In my spare time, I like to be outdoors, make crafts, and travel. Please feel free to contact me with questions or story ideas!
