I thrive on stories about science, art, education and culture, especially the offbeat. An alumna of the University of Wisconsin, I studied journalism and environmental science while working as a staff writer and editor for The Badger Herald, formerly the nation's largest daily independent student newspaper. My first true brush with science writing was covering particle physics at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, where I lived for four months after college. I am currently the Associate Editor for Space Science and Engineering Center, a geophysical research center at UW-Madison. I also fact-check for Discover Magazine and do some freelance writing. In my spare time, I like to be outdoors, read, make crafts and travel.
